USMC MWHS-4 Patch
Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 4 (MWHS-4)
Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 4 (MWHS-4) is the headquarters squadron for the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing (4th MAW), providing command, administrative, and logistical support for the Marine Corps' reserve aviation component. The 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, headquartered at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, Louisiana, is the largest reserve aviation wing in the world, with subordinate units spread across the continental United States from coast to coast.
The 4th MAW traces its lineage to the original 4th Marine Base Defense Aircraft Wing activated during World War II in the Pacific Theater, where Marine aviation units defended island bases and provided air support for the island-hopping campaign across the Central Pacific. Throughout the decades, the wing has provided trained and ready reserve aviation forces to support active duty operations in every major conflict, from Korea and Vietnam through Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. Reserve Marines and squadrons from the 4th MAW have deployed alongside their active-duty counterparts, flying combat missions, providing assault support, and delivering logistics across the globe.
MWHS-4 ensures that the 4th MAW commander has the administrative, personnel, supply, and communications support necessary to lead this geographically dispersed wing. The squadron coordinates with Marine Aircraft Groups and subordinate squadrons across multiple time zones, maintaining readiness standards that allow reserve aviation assets to integrate seamlessly with the active component on short notice.
Perfect For: MWHS-4 personnel past and present, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing reserve Marines, NAS JRB New Orleans personnel, Marine Corps Reserve aviators, and supporters of reserve aviation forces.
MWHS-4 — the headquarters that keeps the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing ready to answer the nation's call, from New Orleans to wherever Marines fly.
