Marine Air Control Group 28 is the command and control backbone of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. MACG-28 provides airspace coordination, air traffic control, radar surveillance, immediate air support integration, communications, and low-altitude air defense for II Marine Expeditionary Force operations. From the TAOC to the tower, MACG-28's squadrons — including MACS-2, MASS-1, MWCS-28, and 2nd LAAD Battalion — ensure the Marine Air-Ground Task Force's aviation combat element can fight.
