Officially Licensed USMC MACG-18 PVC Patch — Marine Air Control Group 18 Patch
Born in Da Nang at the height of Vietnam — and still running the airspace for III MEF in the Pacific.
Marine Air Control Group 18 was formed on September 1, 1967 in Da Nang, Vietnam, with its component units already deep in combat — including a HAWK missile battalion that was among the first Marine units to land in-country. MACG-18 participated in every major campaign in I Corps and earned four Presidential Unit Citations, three Navy Unit Commendations, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. Today, MACG-18 is based at MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, providing command, control, communications, air traffic control, and short-range air defense for 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and III MEF across the Indo-Pacific.
