Officially Licensed USMC 7th Engineer Support Battalion Patch — 1st Marine Logistics Group Combat Engineer Embroidered Patch
Build. Fight. Destroy. — 7th Engineer Support Battalion brings the combat engineering muscle to I MEF.
7th Engineer Support Battalion is a combat engineer unit assigned to the 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, California. The battalion provides the engineering capability that allows the MAGTF to move, fight, and sustain operations in any environment — from constructing forward operating bases and expeditionary airfields to breaching obstacles, clearing routes, and providing utilities support that keeps the force operational in austere conditions.
Combat engineers are among the most versatile Marines in the Corps. 7th ESB's Marines build bridges, construct defensive positions, operate heavy equipment, produce and purify water, generate electrical power, and when necessary, employ demolitions to destroy obstacles and enemy fortifications. The battalion has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where its engineers built the infrastructure that allowed Marine forces to operate deep in hostile territory. From horizontal and vertical construction to explosive ordnance disposal support, 7th ESB provides the engineering foundation upon which the West Coast Marine Corps' combat power is built.
