Officially Licensed USMC 3rd Battalion 7th Marines Cutting Edge PVC Patch - 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment (3/7), 1st Marine Division, officially licensed USMC PVC patch.
The Cutting Edge — eight decades of infantry combat history, from Guadalcanal to the Global War on Terror, worn on one durable patch.
Activated on 1 January 1941 at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines is a light infantry battalion assigned to the 7th Marine Regiment under the 1st Marine Division, based at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California. The battalion has seen combat in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and served as part of the main effort during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. During the Global War on Terror alone, 3/7 completed eleven sequential combat deployments across Iraq, Afghanistan, and Operation Inherent Resolve. The battalion's standing mission is to deploy by air on order, locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver, or repel enemy assault by fire and close combat. Between deployments, 3/7 trains continuously through Combined Arms Exercises, Steel Knight, MOUT training at Camp Pendleton, and rotations to the Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California, as well as forward deployments to Okinawa that include joint exercises with allied forces across the Pacific. The PVC format renders the Cutting Edge insignia in a weather-resistant, field-ready material that holds its detail on plate carriers, range bags, patch panels, and shadow box displays without fading under the desert sun of Twentynine Palms or the humidity of the Pacific.
Perfect For: 3/7 Marines and veterans, India, Kilo, and Lima Company alumni, 7th Marine Regiment collectors, 1st Marine Division supporters, Twentynine Palms station veterans, Global War on Terror deployers, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom service members, family members building tribute displays, and anyone assembling a serious USMC infantry unit patch collection that honors the full combat lineage of one of the Corps' most deployed light infantry battalions.
The Cutting Edge — earned in every theater, preserved in PVC.
