Officially Licensed USMC 1st Bn 23rd Marine Regiment Black Edge Patch — The Reserves Who Fight Like Active Duty

1st Battalion, 23rd Marines doesn't wait for the call-up. They stay ready so they don't have to get ready.

1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment is a reserve infantry battalion of the United States Marine Corps, part of the 23rd Marine Regiment under the 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve. The 23rd Marines have a distinguished combat lineage that stretches back to World War II, when the regiment fought in the battles of Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima — some of the bloodiest island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific. The regiment earned a Presidential Unit Citation for its actions at Iwo Jima. Marine reserve infantry battalions like 1/23 maintain a combat-ready posture that allows them to be called up and integrated into the active force for major operations — and they have answered that call repeatedly. Reserve Marines from the 23rd Marines were activated for Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom, serving alongside active duty Marines in some of the most intense ground combat of those conflicts. The black edge on this patch adds a distinctive visual element that sets it apart from the standard unit insignia. Reserve Marines serve their country while maintaining civilian careers — they train on drill weekends and annual training periods to maintain the infantry skills that make them ready to deploy when the nation calls.

Perfect For: 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines veterans past and present, 4th Marine Division reservists, Marine infantry veterans, and anyone who has served in the Marine Corps Reserve.
