VUQ-11 is one of two planned operational Unmanned Carrier Launched Multi-Role Squadrons that will deploy Boeing MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aerial refueling aircraft aboard U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. The MQ-25 represents a revolutionary leap—the first carrier-based drone designed to refuel manned aircraft in flight, freeing Super Hornets from the tanking mission and extending the carrier air wing's strike range beyond 700 nautical miles.
