Officially Licensed US Navy VFA-122 Flying Eagles Squadron Leather Patch — Where Every Rhino Driver Gets Their Wings
Before you fly the Rhino in the fleet, you learn it here. VFA-122 made you.
VFA-122 "Flying Eagles" is the West Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) for the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California. Established in January 1999 as the first squadron to operate the Super Hornet, VFA-122 is where every West Coast Navy and Marine Corps Hornet and Super Hornet pilot and weapons systems officer learns their trade before heading to the fleet. Every six weeks, a new class of 8-12 newly winged aviators begins the grueling 9-month training pipeline covering air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strikes, and day/night carrier qualifications. With over 225 officers, 400 enlisted, and more than 60 aircraft, the Flying Eagles are one of the largest aviation units in the Navy. This leather patch represents the squadron that has trained every West Coast Super Hornet pilot for over two decades.
Perfect For: VFA-122 Flying Eagles instructors and students, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet community, NAS Lemoore squadrons, FRS graduates, naval aviation training pipeline veterans, leather flight patch collectors, and anyone whose fleet career started with the Flying Eagles.
