Officially Licensed US Navy VAQ-132 Scorpions Squadron Patch - Electronic Attack Squadron 132 (VAQ-132), the Scorpions, EA-18G Growler unit based at NAS Whidbey Island, officially licensed embroidered patch.
First to the Fleet, First to the Fight — the Scorpions have led the Electronic Attack community into every new era of airborne warfare since Vietnam.
VAQ-132 traces its lineage to a patrol squadron established in 1952 and was redesignated as a tactical electronic warfare unit in November 1968. The Scorpions became the first operational squadron to fly the EA-6B Prowler in 1971, logging combat sorties from six different carriers on Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin. That pattern of being first continued through Desert Storm, Operation Deny Flight over Bosnia, and operations over Afghanistan and Iraq. When the Navy transitioned the Electronic Attack community to the Boeing EA-18G Growler, VAQ-132 led the way again, achieving initial operational capability in September 2009 and becoming the first squadron to deploy the Growler in combat during Operation New Dawn. The Scorpions also fired the first AGM-88 High Speed Anti-Radiation Missile from a Growler during operations over Libya. That unbroken record of firsts gives this officially licensed embroidered patch a depth of unit history that sets it apart from generic aviation memorabilia.
Perfect For: Navy electronic attack veterans, EA-18G Growler aircrew and maintainers, VAQ-132 alumni, NAS Whidbey Island community members, Electronic Attack Wing Pacific collectors, cruise book displays, shadow boxes, challenge coin and patch boards, reunion gifts, and anyone building a serious Navy aviation collection around the history of airborne electronic warfare. It also makes a meaningful keepsake for families and supporters who want a clean, officially licensed tribute to the crews who have kept adversary radar systems suppressed across five decades of deployed operations.
Scorpions heritage, stitched into every thread — first to the fleet, first to the fight, and built to last on any display.
