Carrying the motto The Sooner, The Better, she supported anti-submarine warfare, strike missions, and intelligence operations, and was the first submarine to use Digital Nautical Charts. Together, these two ships represent a name that spans cruiser gunfire, guided missile innovation, Cold War deterrence, and fast-attack submarine operations across nearly eight decades of US naval service.
