Officially Licensed US Navy USS New Orleans (LPD-18) Patches — San Antonio-Class Amphibious Transport Dock USS New Orleans Sasebo Embroidered Patch Set

Forward-deployed amphibious transport dock — USS New Orleans LPD-18, Sasebo, the Big Easy in the Western Pacific.

USS New Orleans (LPD-18) is a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock and the fourth US Navy ship named after New Orleans, Louisiana. Construction began under contract awarded December 18, 1998 at Northrop Grumman Ship Systems' Avondale yard in New Orleans, Louisiana — built in the city she is named for — with keel laying on October 14, 2002, christening on November 20, 2004, launch on December 11, 2004, and commissioning on March 10, 2007. After commissioning USS New Orleans steamed to Naval Base San Diego on May 3, 2007 and became part of the Pacific Fleet's amphibious force, departing San Diego on her initial deployment on January 9, 2009 as part of an Expeditionary Strike Group. In March 2009, while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, New Orleans collided with the submarine USS Hartford (SSN-768), suffering a ruptured fuel tank that spilled approximately 25,000 gallons of diesel — an incident that became a major case study in submarine and surface ship coordination in restricted waters. New Orleans is now forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan as part of the US 7th Fleet's amphibious force, supporting Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) deployments, theater security cooperation across the Indo-Pacific, and amphibious ready group (ARG) operations with Marine Corps units across the region. As an LPD-17-class platform she carries an embarked Marine landing force, vehicles, MV-22B Ospreys, CH-53 Super Stallions, AH-1Z / UH-1Y, and LCACs from her well deck.

Perfect For: USS New Orleans LPD-18 sailors, chiefs, and officers, embarked Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Marines, San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock community, Sasebo Japan and US 7th Fleet forward-deployed naval forces (FDNF) families, Avondale Louisiana shipbuilders, MV-22B Osprey and AAV/ACV Marine landing force veterans, and amphibious warfare community supporters.

Size is shown on the product page and updates with the variant you select (example: 3"). If you’re mounting on a hat or small panel, choose smaller sizes; for plate carriers and display boards, larger sizes fit better.

If the product is officially licensed, it will say “Officially Licensed” in the title and/or in the product details. If it doesn’t, it’s still a legitimate product—just not part of a licensed program.
