The Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Atlantic, known as HSCWSL, serves as the Atlantic Fleet center for weapons and tactics training across the Helicopter Sea Combat Wing. In 2016, the MH-53E Weapons and Tactics Unit was folded into HSCWSL, expanding the school's reach across both the MH-60S Seahawk and MH-53E Sea Dragon communities. HSCWSL prepares aircrews through academic, simulator, and flight-phase training, covering surface warfare, mine countermeasures, ordnance handling, and the tactics, techniques, and procedures that define combat-ready helicopter detachments. The school's instructors are drawn from the most experienced aircrew in the Atlantic Fleet, and the units they train include some of the Navy's most operationally active helicopter squadrons, from Norfolk to deployed detachments across the globe.
