Carrier Strike Group 12 (CSG-12) is a U.S. Navy Atlantic Fleet carrier strike group based at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, reporting to Commander, Task Force 80 and Commander, U.S. 2nd Fleet. The strike group's flagship is USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) — the first-in-class Ford-class supercarrier — with Carrier Air Wing 8 (CVW-8), Destroyer Squadron 2 (DESRON-2), and assigned destroyers including USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG-81). CSG-12 was founded on October 1, 2004; between 2006 and 2011 the group operated under USS Enterprise (CVN-65) as flagship and made four deployments to the U.S. Fifth Fleet, flying over 13,000 air combat missions in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom — including Operation Medusa and Operation Mountain Fury. From 2015 USS Theodore Roosevelt served as flagship before being reassigned. The Gerald R. Ford CSG commenced its first-ever fully integrated carrier strike group operations in November 2020, deployed to U.S. 2nd and 6th Fleet areas in autumn 2022, and conducted Ford's first combat deployment in May 2023 to the Eastern Mediterranean. Notably, CSG-12 was the first U.S. Navy carrier strike group to deploy with Naval Integrated Fire Control-Counter Air (NIFC-CA) capability. This vinyl sticker carries the CSG-12 colors. Outdoor-grade vinyl.
