Officially Licensed USMC 2nd Network Battalion PVC patch.
People, Ideas, Things … In That Order — Marines fighting in cyberspace.
2nd Network Battalion is a U.S. Marine Corps cyberspace operations unit headquartered at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, operating as a subordinate command of the Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group (MCCOG) under Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER). The battalion was activated on June 3, 2021 with Lieutenant Colonel Karl W. Schlegel assuming command — the second of three Marine Corps network battalions activated for cyberspace operations, following 1st Network Battalion's activation at Camp Pendleton on June 4, 2020 and preceding 3rd Network Battalion. 2nd Network Battalion's mission is to operate, secure, and defend the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) — conducting Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) operations and Defensive Cyberspace Operations–Internal Defensive Measures (DCO-IDM), providing forces, communications control, and cybersecurity services that enable freedom of action across all warfighting domains while denying the same to adversaries. The battalion delivers enterprise business services to end-user devices, manages building area and local area networks across Marine Corps installations, and absorbed the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Information Technology Support Centers that previously performed those functions. As a stand-up unit purpose-built to fight in the cyber domain, 2nd Network Bn lives the MARFORCYBER ethos: People, Ideas, Things … In That Order. This PVC patch is the battalion's calling card.
