VX-30 is based at NAS Point Mugu, California, and operates a diverse fleet of aircraft including E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes, P-3 Orions, C-130 Hercules, and NC-20G aircraft in support of the Pacific Missile Range's weapons testing mission.
VX-30 Bloodhounds provide range support, target services, and operational test support for the weapons tests conducted over the Pacific Missile Range. The squadron's diverse aircraft fleet allows them to perform telemetry relay, target drone control, surveillance, and range clearance operations that are essential to the safe and effective conduct of live-fire weapons testing. This flag patch combines VX-30's unique identity with the patriotism that drives every test and evaluation mission — the knowledge that the weapons being tested on their range will protect American service members in combat.
