Official VS-33 World Famous Screwbirds Sticker - Sea Control Squadron 33 (VS-33) S-3 Viking Heritage Vinyl Sticker, NAS North Island.

World Famous, Internationally Traveled, and carrier-proven — the Screwbirds of VS-33 carried the sea control mission across every ocean the Navy called home.

VS-33 was commissioned on April 1, 1960 at Naval Air Station North Island, California, formed from a segment of the VS-38 Red Griffins and assigned to Carrier Air Wing Nine. The squadron flew the Grumman S-2E/G Tracker from commissioning through 1975, then transitioned to the Lockheed S-3A Viking as carrier battle groups moved into the jet age of anti-submarine warfare. In 1991 the Screwbirds upgraded again to the S-3B, and in October 1993 the squadron's designation shifted from Air Anti-Submarine Squadron to Sea Control Squadron, reflecting the Viking's expanded multi-mission role covering anti-surface warfare, maritime intercept operations, and strike support. Over seventeen major forward deployments, VS-33 operated from legendary carriers including USS Ranger, USS Kitty Hawk, USS Constellation, USS Nimitz, USS John C. Stennis, and USS Carl Vinson, conducting operations in the Arabian Gulf during Desert Storm and Operation Southern Watch. The squadron earned six Battle Efficiency Awards, five Arnold J. Isbell Awards for Anti-Submarine Excellence, and seven Golden Wrench Awards before its decommissioning in 2005. This vinyl sticker carries that full arc of West Coast sea control history in a durable, weather-resistant format built for display boards, gear, vehicles, and shadow box frames.

Perfect For: VS-33 veterans and alumni, S-3 Viking aircrew and maintainers, Carrier Air Wing Nine collectors, NAS North Island community members, Navy anti-submarine warfare historians, sea control squadron enthusiasts, cruise book displays, shadow boxes, vehicle and gear decals, and anyone building a serious Navy aviation collection around the Pacific Fleet's carrier-based sea control legacy.

World Famous, Internationally Traveled — the Screwbirds' story, preserved in vinyl.
