Official VP-9 Golden Eagles CAC- X Japan Patch - Patrol Squadron Nine (VP-9) Golden Eagles Combat Aircrew Japan Deployment Embroidered Patch.

Golden Eagles over the Western Pacific, one combat aircrew rotation at a time, keeping the maritime watch from Japan to the open ocean.

VP-9 was established on 15 March 1951 and has carried the Golden Eagles name since 1969, building one of the most decorated patrol aviation records in the U.S. Navy. The squadron first deployed to Iwakuni, Japan in June 1952, patrolling the seas around Korea, and never stopped returning to the Western Pacific. Over the following decades, Golden Eagles combat aircrews rotated through Misawa, Kadena, Atsugi, and other forward sites, tracking Soviet submarines, supporting carrier battle groups, and conducting multinational exercises with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The CAC designation on this patch marks a specific numbered combat aircrew rotation, the individual team of naval aviators and aircrewmen who flew, maintained readiness, and represented the squadron during a Japan deployment. That crew-level identity is what separates a CAC patch from a generic squadron piece. VP-9 transitioned from the P-3C Orion to the P-8A Poseidon in 2018 and continues to operate from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island as part of Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Ten, earning nine Battle Efficiency Awards and multiple commendations across its history. A Japan deployment patch from any numbered CAC captures the specific moment when a crew put boots on the ground at a forward site and flew the mission.

Perfect For: VP-9 Golden Eagles veterans, P-3 Orion and P-8 Poseidon aircrew, combat aircrew alumni from Japan rotations, maritime patrol aviation collectors, NAS Whidbey Island community members, deployment shadow boxes, cruise book displays, patch panels, reunion gifts, and anyone preserving the story of forward-deployed Navy patrol aviation in the Western Pacific. It is especially meaningful for crew members who flew numbered CAC rotations out of Misawa or Kadena and want a patch that marks their specific team rather than the squadron as a whole.

Golden Eagles heritage, stitched for the crew, the rotation, and the watch they kept over Japan.
