Official VMM-261(REIN) Raging Bulls Deployment Patch - Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 Reinforced, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, MV-22B Osprey Embroidered Deployment Patch.

First in, last out — Raging Bulls assault support identity, deployed readiness, and tiltrotor heritage stitched into one official patch.

VMM-261 traces its lineage to April 5, 1951, making it the oldest continually active MV-22B Osprey squadron in the Marine Corps. Based at MCAS New River, North Carolina, under Marine Aircraft Group 26 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, the Raging Bulls have answered every major call from Vietnam and Desert Storm to Iraq and Afghanistan. When VMM-261 deployed to Afghanistan in November 2009 as part of the 22nd MEU, it became the first MV-22 Osprey squadron to operate in that theater, flying assault support missions across the entire country and participating in Operation Cobra's Anger. The REIN designation marks the squadron's reinforced configuration as the aviation combat element of a Marine Expeditionary Unit, a role that adds aircraft, personnel, and expanded mission capability for sustained deployed operations. As a reinforced element attached to the 24th MEU, VMM-261 served as a theater reserve force supporting maritime security and crisis response across the U.S. Fifth Fleet area of responsibility. That deployment context gives this patch a specific, documented story that separates it from generic aviation memorabilia.

Perfect For: VMM-261 veterans and alumni, MV-22B Osprey aircrew and maintainers, 24th MEU deployment collectors, Marine Aircraft Group 26 supporters, MCAS New River community members, shadow box builders, challenge coin and patch panel displays, reunion gifts, and anyone preserving the documented history of the first Osprey squadron to deploy to Afghanistan. It also suits families and supporters who want a clean, official tribute to the Raging Bulls and the assault support crews who carried troops, cargo, and mission capability across some of the most demanding terrain in Marine Corps aviation history.

Raging Bulls lineage, reinforced for deployment, preserved in every stitch.
