Official VMM-164(REIN) Knightriders 250th 4th July PVC Patch - Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 Reinforced, MV-22B Osprey, 250th Independence Day Commemorative PVC Patch.

Knightriders in the air, on mission, and now marking America's 250th with the unit pride that has defined this squadron since 1964.

VMM-164 was activated on July 1, 1964, at Marine Corps Air Station Santa Ana, California, and became the first CH-46 Sea Knight squadron to fly combat missions in Vietnam. The Knightriders callsign grew from that Sea Knight lineage and the squadron's unbroken commitment to moving Marines and cargo when the mission demanded it. After decades of deployments spanning Desert Storm, Somalia, and multiple Marine Expeditionary Unit rotations, the squadron transitioned to the MV-22B Osprey in 2015 and redesignated as VMM-164 under Marine Aircraft Group 39 and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Camp Pendleton. The reinforced designation, carried as REIN, reflects the composite structure the squadron takes on during deployed operations, integrating additional aircraft and personnel to meet theater requirements. Most recently, VMM-164 (REIN) deployed to Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa from June to December 2024, operating across Djibouti, Somalia, Gabon, Malawi, Cameroon, and Kenya with 12 aircraft and 290 personnel. This 250th Independence Day patch ties that living operational record to a milestone national anniversary, giving the design a dual identity as both a unit tribute and a historic American commemorative piece in durable, field-ready PVC.

Perfect For: VMM-164 veterans and active crew members, MV-22B Osprey enthusiasts, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing collectors, MAG-39 alumni, Horn of Africa deployment keepsakes, Marine aviation shadow boxes, patch panels and gear bags, Independence Day military tribute displays, reunion gifts, and anyone building a unit-history collection around West Coast Marine tiltrotor aviation and the long Knightriders legacy from Vietnam through today's expeditionary missions.

Knightriders heritage, six decades of lift, and America's 250th — all in one patch.
