Official VMGR-352 Raiders San Diego Patch - Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352, the Raiders of MCAS Miramar, KC-130J Super Hercules Embroidered Patch.
Raiders ready, any clime or place — the fuel, the lift, and the reach that keep Marine aviation in the fight.
VMGR-352 traces its lineage to April 1, 1943, when it was established as Marine Utility Squadron 352 at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. The squadron earned its aerial refueling identity in March 1961 with the arrival of the KC-130 Hercules, and today operates the KC-130J Super Hercules from MCAS Miramar under Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The Raiders provide both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aerial refueling to support Fleet Marine Force air operations, alongside assault air transport of personnel, equipment, and supplies. That dual mission has kept the squadron relevant across every major conflict since World War II, including Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In September 2024, the Raiders completed a round-the-world flight to sustain Marine units deployed in Africa, demonstrating the global reach the KC-130J brings to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The squadron has earned the Presidential Unit Citation, multiple Commandant's Aviation Efficiency Trophies, and the 2010 Henry Bud Wildfang Award for Best Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron. This embroidered patch captures that deep operational identity in a format built for shadow boxes, flight-line gear, patch panels, and unit-history displays.
Perfect For: VMGR-352 veterans and active-duty Raiders, KC-130J aircrew and maintainers, MAG-11 and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing collectors, MCAS Miramar alumni, Marine aviation historians, deployment keepsake displays, reunion gifts, challenge coin and patch boards, shadow boxes, and anyone building a serious Marine Corps aviation collection around assault support, aerial refueling heritage, and San Diego-based Marine air units.
Eight decades of Raiders heritage, stitched into every thread — fuel, lift, and mission from Miramar to the world.
