Official VMGR-234 Peace Keepers Squadron Patch - Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234 (VMGR-234) KC-130J Super Hercules Embroidered Patch, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas.
Rangers by lineage, Peace Keepers by mission — the quiet professionals who keep Marine Corps aviation fueled, moving, and ready across every theater and time zone.
VMGR-234 traces its roots to May 1942, when it was commissioned at MCAS Ewa, Hawaii, as a scout bomber squadron and flew combat tours with the Cactus Air Force over Guadalcanal during World War II. Redesignated multiple times across decades of service, the squadron received its current identity as Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234 in October 1983 and became the first Marine Corps Reserve squadron to receive a new tactical aircraft directly from the manufacturer when the KC-130T arrived that same year. Today the Rangers fly the KC-130J Super Hercules out of NAS Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth as part of Marine Aircraft Group 41, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. Their mission set spans aerial refueling of fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, assault air transport of personnel and cargo, rapid ground refueling, airborne direct air support, MEDEVAC, and emergency resupply into unimproved landing zones. The squadron has answered the call across Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and earned the Marine Corps Aviation Association's Henry Wildfang Trophy as the top aerial refueler transport squadron in the Corps.
Perfect For: VMGR-234 veterans and alumni, KC-130 Hercules aircrew and maintainers, Marine Corps Reserve supporters, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing collectors, MAG-41 unit historians, deployment keepsakes, shadow box displays, challenge coin and patch boards, reunion gifts, and anyone building a serious Marine aviation collection around tanker transport heritage and reserve force readiness.
Peace Keepers heritage, stitched for the crews who keep the mission airborne and the force moving forward.
