Official VFA-22 Redcocks Plane Captain Patch — Own the Jet
The pilot flies it. The Plane Captain owns it.
Strike Fighter Squadron 22 (VFA-22) "Fighting Redcocks" is one of the Navy's premier Super Hornet squadrons, currently flying the F/A-18F out of NAS Lemoore, California, as part of Carrier Air Wing 17. This Plane Captain patch is for the enlisted maintainers who are the first and last to touch the aircraft before and after every flight — the ones who do the walkaround, check every panel, inspect every fluid, and sign off that the jet is safe to fly. In naval aviation, the Plane Captain is the single person responsible for the aircraft on the ground, and that responsibility is earned through hours of training and qualification. The Redcocks have deployed on multiple WESTPAC and combat cruises, and behind every successful sortie is a Plane Captain who made sure the jet was ready to go. This patch is their badge of honor.
Perfect For: VFA-22 Fighting Redcocks maintenance personnel and Plane Captains, F/A-18F Super Hornet maintainers, CVW-17 enlisted aircrew, NAS Lemoore squadron support personnel, and every wrench-turner who knows the pilot is only as good as the jet you give them.
VFA-22 Plane Captain — the jet doesn't fly without us.
