Official VFA-151 Vigilantes Old Ugly (Large) Patch - Strike Fighter Squadron 151 (VFA-151) Vigilantes F/A-18E Super Hornet Large Embroidered Patch featuring the squadron mascot Old Ugly.

Fight Ugly. The Vigilantes carry their motto, their mascot, and their radio callsign into every deployment, and this large embroidered patch puts that identity front and center.

VFA-151 was established as Fighter Squadron 23 in August 1948 and redesignated VFA-151 on 1 June 1986, earning the Vigilantes name in 1959 to reflect the unit's around-the-clock vigil of readiness. Based at NAS Lemoore, California, and assigned to Carrier Air Wing Nine aboard USS Abraham Lincoln, the squadron flies the F/A-18E Super Hornet with a radio callsign of Ugly and a mascot known as Old Ugly. That identity runs deep. From 1965 to 1973 the Vigilantes participated in every major operation of the Vietnam War, logging more combat deployments and more days on the line than any other carrier-based unit of that era. In 1991 the squadron flew in the opening strikes of Operation Desert Storm, delivering more than 817,000 pounds of ordnance on targets across Iraq, Kuwait, and the Northern Persian Gulf. Decades of deployments, from Korea through Operation Enduring Freedom, give the Old Ugly mascot a lineage that collectors and veterans recognize immediately. The large format gives the design room to show the full character of the insignia, making it a natural centerpiece for a shadow box, patch panel, or flight-jacket display.

Perfect For: VFA-151 veterans and alumni, F/A-18 Super Hornet enthusiasts, Navy strike fighter collectors, CVW-9 and USS Abraham Lincoln crew members, NAS Lemoore community members, deployment keepsake displays, shadow boxes, challenge coin and patch boards, reunion gifts, and anyone building a carrier aviation collection around one of the Navy's most decorated and continuously active strike fighter squadrons.

Old Ugly, stitched large, for the crews and collectors who know exactly what Fight Ugly means.
