Official VAQ-132 Scorpions EA-18G Shoulder Patch - Electronic Attack Squadron 132 (VAQ-132) Scorpions, U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler Expeditionary Squadron, NAS Whidbey Island, Embroidered Shoulder Patch.
First to the Fleet, First to the Fight — the Scorpions carry a motto that their record has earned every step of the way.
VAQ-132 traces its lineage to Patrol Squadron 29, established in 1946, and has worn the Scorpions name through decades of electronic warfare history at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington. The squadron was the first to receive the EA-6B Prowler in 1971 and repeated that distinction in 2009 when it became the first operational EA-18G Growler squadron, achieving initial operational capability on 22 September 2009. In 2010, VAQ-132 became the first squadron to deploy the Growler in combat, supporting Operation New Dawn in Iraq, and then redeployed to Aviano Air Base, Italy, where the Scorpions became the first crew to employ the AGM-88 High Speed Anti-Radiation Missile from the Growler during Operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector over Libya. Operating as an expeditionary squadron under Electronic Attack Wing Pacific, the Scorpions deploy to Air Force bases worldwide rather than exclusively to carriers, giving the unit a distinctive footprint across INDOPACOM and beyond. This shoulder patch captures that layered identity — a squadron that has led the electronic attack community through every major platform transition and combat debut in modern Navy aviation history.
Perfect For: Navy electronic attack veterans, EA-18G Growler aircrew and maintainers, VAQ-132 Scorpions alumni, NAS Whidbey Island community members, expeditionary squadron supporters, naval aviation collectors, shadow box and display board builders, cruise book keepsakes, reunion gifts, and anyone preserving the story of airborne electronic warfare from the Prowler era through the Growler's combat debut. It also suits families and supporters who want a specific, well-researched piece tied to a squadron that has led the electronic attack community at every major turning point in modern Navy aviation.
Scorpions heritage, stitched for the crews who were always first — to the fleet, to the fight, and to the record books.
