Official VAQ-131 Lancers Squadron Patch And Name Tags - Electronic Attack Squadron 131 (VAQ-131) U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler Embroidered Patch and Name Tag Set.

Tip of the Spear, callsign Pilum — the Lancers carry the electronic warfare fight forward and protect the fleet on every mission.

VAQ-131 traces its lineage to 1946, when it was commissioned as reserve Patrol Squadron VP-931. After flying the P-2V Neptune and later the Douglas A-3 Skywarrior, the squadron was redesignated Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 131 on 1 November 1968, earning the Lancers name that it carries today. Redesignated an Electronic Attack Squadron in 1998, VAQ-131 flew the EA-6B Prowler through decades of carrier deployments before transitioning to the Boeing EA-18G Growler in 2014. The squadron is homeported at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington, and is assigned to Carrier Air Wing 8 aboard USS Gerald R. Ford. The Lancers specialize in kinetic and non-kinetic Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, a mission that has taken them from Operation Southern Watch and Operation Iraqi Freedom to Operation Inherent Resolve and an expeditionary deployment to Naval Air Facility Misawa, Japan. That breadth of operational history gives this embroidered patch and name tag set a story worth displaying, whether on a flight jacket, shadow box, patch panel, or reunion table.

Perfect For: Navy electronic attack veterans, EA-18G Growler aircrew and maintainers, VAQ-131 Lancers alumni, NAS Whidbey Island sailors, CVW-8 and USS Gerald R. Ford crew members, electronic warfare collectors, deployment keepsake displays, shadow boxes, challenge coin and patch boards, and anyone building a serious Navy aviation collection around carrier-based electronic attack heritage. It also makes a meaningful gift for families and supporters who want a well-researched tribute to the crews who suppress enemy air defenses and protect the strike package on every mission.

Lancers heritage, stitched for the crews who fly tip of the spear and bring the fleet home safe.
