Official US Navy HT-8 Eightballers Stickers — The Oldest Helo Squadron in the Navy

Because every rotary-wing pilot in the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard traces their wings back to a squadron like HT-8.

Helicopter Training Squadron 8 (HT-8), the Eightballers, is based at NAS Whiting Field in Milton, Florida, and holds the distinction of being the oldest currently active helicopter squadron in the U.S. Navy. Established in 1948 and redesignated as HT-8 in 1960, the squadron has trained generations of helicopter pilots using call sign "Eight Ball" — taking Student Naval Aviators from their first helicopter flight through to their coveted Wings of Gold. HT-8 was selected as the lead squadron to introduce the new TH-73A Thrasher helicopter, ushering in the next generation of rotary-wing training. Along with sister squadrons HT-18 and HT-28, the Eightballers train 100% of all rotary pilots for the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

Perfect For: HT-8 Eightballers instructors and alumni, NAS Whiting Field personnel, any rotary-wing Naval Aviator who trained at Whiting, and helicopter pilots across all services who owe their wings to South Field.

Eight Ball on the radio. Wings of Gold on the chest.
