Before they were Warhawks, HS-10 carried a different name and the same training mission — the Taskmasters.
Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 10 (HS-10) carried the Taskmasters designation during a period of its service as the Navy's West Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron for the H-3 Sea King. This embroidered patch represents that specific era of HS-10's history. The Taskmasters maintained the critical training pipeline that produced combat-ready Sea King pilots and aircrew for Pacific Fleet helicopter squadrons. Regardless of the name, the mission remained constant — HS-10 trained every West Coast helicopter ASW crew, ensuring the fleet always had qualified rotary-wing warriors ready to deploy.
