Official TRAWING FITU Sticker - U.S. Navy Training Air Wing Fixed-Wing Instructor Training Unit (FITU) Official Vinyl Sticker.
Where fleet experience meets instructional mastery, and the next generation of naval aviators gets its foundation built right.
The Fixed-Wing Instructor Training Unit, known as FITU, operates under the Naval Air Training Command's Training Air Wings and serves as the pipeline that converts the Navy's most experienced aviators into qualified flight instructors. Training Air Wing Five at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton, Florida is one of the most active homes of FITU operations, accounting for roughly 43 percent of all flight time within the Naval Air Training Command and 11 percent of Navy and Marine Corps flight time worldwide. The FITU syllabus runs eleven weeks or longer and qualifies returning fleet aviators to instruct in their platform-specific aircraft, covering the T-6B Texan II for primary fixed-wing training. Student Naval Aviators from the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and allied nations all pass through wings shaped by FITU-qualified instructors, making the unit's influence felt across every phase of naval aviation. The mission of Training Air Wing Five is to train warriors and develop leaders, and FITU sits at the center of that standard, ensuring that every instructor who reaches the flight line has been held to the same rigorous benchmark before a single student ever straps in.
Perfect For: Navy and Marine Corps flight instructors, CNATRA veterans, NAS Whiting Field alumni, TRAWING Five graduates, T-6B Texan II aviators, naval aviation training command collectors, shadow box displays, flight bag panels, reunion keepsakes, and anyone who has completed or supported the FITU syllabus. It also makes a meaningful gift for families and supporters who want to recognize the demanding, career-defining work of turning seasoned fleet aviators into the instructors who build naval aviation's next generation from the ground up.
FITU heritage, carried on every flight bag, panel, and shadow box that honors the instructors who built naval aviation's standard.
