Official Naval Flight Officer Caps - U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Naval Flight Officer (NFO) community ball cap featuring the gold NFO wings insignia, structured six-panel wool-blend construction.

Wings of gold, sensors locked, mission owned — the NFO identity worn on and off the flight line.

The Naval Flight Officer designation was formally established in 1966 when naval aviation observer officers received the newly created NFO title and its distinctive gold wings insignia, replacing the earlier Naval Aviation Observer program that traced its roots to the earliest days of naval flight. Today, NFOs are commissioned unrestricted line officers in the Navy and Marine Corps who specialize in airborne weapons, radar, electronic warfare, and sensor systems across four training pipelines — Strike Fighter, Airborne Early Warning, Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance, and TACAMO — all conducted at Training Air Wing SIX at NAS Pensacola, the Cradle of Naval Aviation. Upon completing the demanding Undergraduate Military Flight Officer program, graduates earn their wings of gold and go on to operate mission-critical systems aboard the F/A-18F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, and P-8A Poseidon, serving aboard carrier strike groups and forward-deployed squadrons worldwide. The NFO insignia — a central shield set against outstretched gold wings — represents leadership, technical expertise, and the crew coordination that keeps naval aviation missions on target. This cap carries that same identity in a durable, wearable format built for veterans, active-duty crews, and supporters who know what those wings mean.

Perfect for active-duty NFOs, retired naval flight officers, Strike Fighter and EA-18G Growler aircrew, E-2 Hawkeye and P-8 Poseidon community veterans, NAS Pensacola alumni, naval aviation collectors, shadow box builders, squadron reunion attendees, military family members, and anyone who wants to represent the weapons and sensor side of naval aviation with a clean, recognizable piece of headgear.

NFO wings, earned at Pensacola, worn with the quiet confidence of every crew that made the mission possible.
