Official MALS-29 Wolverines of Wall St Patch - Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 29 (MALS-29) Wolverines Unit Morale Embroidered Patch, MCAS New River, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
Wolverines on the flight line, in the supply cage, and deep in the maintenance bay — the tenacious logistics force that kept MAG-29 airborne and ready.
MALS-29 was activated at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, in 1972 and redesignated as a full aviation logistics squadron in 1988 under the Marine Aviation Logistics Support Package concept, which integrated maintenance, supply, and ordnance functions into a single deployable unit. Known as the Wolverines, the squadron served under Marine Aircraft Group 29 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, providing intermediate-level maintenance, aviation supply, and ordnance support primarily for rotary-wing and tiltrotor aircraft including the CH-53E Super Stallion and MV-22B Osprey. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, MALS-29 supported more than 6,000 flight hours and over 3,700 combat sorties from multiple forward sites, giving MAG-29 reach deep into Iraq. The squadron also deployed in support of Desert Storm, operations in the Balkans, Haiti, and Enduring Freedom, earning the Marine Corps Aviation Association's Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron of the Year award. MALS-29 was officially deactivated in December 2023 after more than 51 years of service, in alignment with Marine Corps Force Design 2030. The Wolverines of Wall St patch captures the unit's sharp identity and the pride of a logistics community that made every sortie possible.
Perfect For: MALS-29 Wolverines veterans and active duty Marines, MAG-29 personnel, MCAS New River alumni, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing collectors, rotary-wing and tiltrotor maintainers, aviation ordnance and supply Marines, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Desert Storm veterans, shadow box builders, unit reunion displays, challenge coin and patch panel collectors, and anyone honoring the logistics Marines who kept Marine Corps aviation combat-ready across five decades of global operations.
