Official HSM-46 Grandmaster NASCAR Patch - Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 46 (HSM-46) Grandmasters MH-60R Seahawk Officially Licensed Embroidered Patch.

Set the Standard — Grandmaster speed, chess-piece precision, and Atlantic Fleet maritime strike identity stitched into one sharp morale patch.

HSM-46, the Grandmasters, is a United States Navy helicopter squadron based at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, and the longest-standing expeditionary HSM squadron on the East Coast. Established on 7 April 1988 as HSL-46 at Naval Station Mayport, the squadron originally flew the SH-60B Seahawk before re-designating as HSM-46 in March 2012 and transitioning to the MH-60R Seahawk Romeo, the Navy's most advanced multi-mission rotary-wing platform. The Grandmasters deploy detachments aboard cruisers, destroyers, and aircraft carriers in support of Carrier Strike Group and Combatant Commander requirements across the Atlantic Fleet and beyond, and are currently assigned to Carrier Air Wing 7 aboard USS George H.W. Bush. Each detachment consists of one or two aircraft, five to six pilots, two to three sensor operators, a maintenance chief, and a maintenance team, typically deploying for six to eight months with work-up cruises beforehand. Mission roles span anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, medical evacuation, vertical replenishment, and communications relay. The Grandmaster name itself reflects a chess tradition: anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare missions demand the same subtlety, finesse, and strategic vision required of a chess grandmaster. The squadron's knight chess-piece mascot reinforces that identity — its ability to move in multiple dimensions mirrors the MH-60R aircrew's tactical versatility, while the eight-point star on the knight's shield represents the squadron's readiness to execute missions anywhere in the world. The NASCAR-style morale patch captures that competitive, self-reliant spirit in a bold, collectible design. The squadron has served in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terror.

Perfect For: HSM-46 Grandmasters veterans and active personnel, MH-60R Seahawk aircrew and maintainers, NAS Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport alumni, surface combatant helicopter detachment community members, Carrier Air Wing 7 and CSG-10 collectors, Navy aviation morale patch enthusiasts, shadow box builders, cruise book displays, reunion gifts, and anyone assembling a serious Atlantic Fleet rotary-wing patch collection.

Grandmaster standard, racing identity, and maritime strike heritage — all in one officially licensed embroidered patch.
