Official HMLA-167 Warriors AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom PVC Patches — Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167 New River PVC Patch

Vipers and Venoms, gun-runs and CASEVAC — the Warriors deliver from the deck or the dirt.

Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167 (HMLA-167), the "Warriors," is a USMC light attack helicopter squadron based at MCAS New River, North Carolina, under MAG-29 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. Originally commissioned as Marine Light Helicopter Training Squadron 301 (HML-301) on April 30, 1972, the unit was redesignated HMLA-167 on May 31, 1986 with the integration of the AH-1J SeaCobra and the UH-1N Twin Huey, and has flown the mixed gun-and-utility composite ever since. The Warriors transitioned from the legacy AH-1W SuperCobra and UH-1N Twin Huey to the modernized AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom — the Marine Corps' H-1 Upgrade family — in the early 2010s, becoming an all-glass-cockpit, fully integrated digital squadron. As an East Coast HMLA, the Warriors deploy detachments and full squadron packages with II MEF Marine Expeditionary Units aboard amphibious ready groups, providing close air support, armed escort, forward air control airborne, and casualty evacuation across the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa. The squadron has supported every major contingency from Operation Desert Storm through Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and remains the East Coast Marine Corps' first call when an MEU needs rotary-wing precision firepower from a flight deck. This pair of PVC patches — one for the AH-1Z, one for the UH-1Y — celebrates the gun-and-utility partnership that defines the H-1 community.

Perfect For: HMLA-167 Warriors active-duty and veteran Marines, AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom pilots and maintainers, MCAS New River residents, MAG-29 and 2nd MAW personnel, II MEF and Marine Expeditionary Unit alumni, H-1 community AH-1W and UH-1N heritage enthusiasts, and amphibious ready group flight-deck operators.

Warriors — light attack from the deck since 1986.
