Official HMH-464 Condors Sunset Saguaro Patch - Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 (HMH-464) CH-53E Super Stallion Embroidered Patch with Southwestern Desert Sunset Design.

Condors identity, desert sky heritage, and the heavy-lift legacy of the Marine Corps' first CH-53E Super Stallion squadron captured in one embroidered piece.

HMH-464 traces its lineage to 15 April 1944 when Marine Scout Bomber Squadron 464 was activated at MCAS El Toro, California. Reactivated on 1 March 1981 at MCAS New River, North Carolina, the Condors became the first Marine Corps squadron to receive and introduce the CH-53E Super Stallion to the Fleet Marine Force. The Yuma connection runs deep in Condors history: HMH-464 flew the first non-stop coast-to-coast CH-53E flight from MCAS Yuma, Arizona to MCAS New River, covering 1,870 miles via aerial refueling. That Southwest desert identity — saguaro silhouettes, fading sun, wide open sky — is exactly what the Sunset Saguaro design honors. The Condors went on to fly 304 combat sorties and deliver over two million pounds of cargo during Operation Desert Storm, execute the dramatic TRAP rescue of downed Air Force pilot Captain Scott O'Grady from Bosnia in 1995, and make the historic 800-nautical-mile flight from USS Bataan into Afghanistan after September 11. Operating under Marine Aircraft Group 29 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS New River, the Condors built a record defined by heavy lift, long-range reach, and mission-critical reliability across every theater they entered.

Perfect For: HMH-464 Condors veterans and active-duty crew members, CH-53E Super Stallion maintainers and pilots, MAG-29 and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing collectors, MCAS New River alumni, Marine aviation historians, shadow box and display board builders, reunion gifts, deployment keepsakes, and anyone drawn to the Southwestern desert aesthetic that connects the Condors' Yuma training legacy to a distinctive piece of Marine heavy-lift history.

Desert sky, heavy iron, and a Condors legacy that stretches from Yuma to every theater they were called to serve.
