Official E-2 Hawkeye Republic Key West Flag Patch — Eyes of the Fleet, Keys to the Party
The Hummer community plants its flag in paradise.
This patch celebrates the E-2 Hawkeye community's connection to NAS Key West, Florida — one of the Navy's premier training detachment locations. NAS Key West has been a critical aviation training hub since WWII, and today it hosts detachments from strike fighter squadrons, carrier airborne early warning squadrons, and adversary units who use the Key West Complex airspace for everything from SFARP (Strike Fighter Advanced Readiness Program) workups to fleet training. The E-2 Hawkeye — the Navy's carrier-based airborne early warning, battle management, and command and control aircraft — has been the "eyes of the fleet" since 1964, using its massive rotodome radar to detect threats, coordinate strikes, and manage the battlespace from 25,000 feet. The "Hawkeye Republic" is a nod to the tight-knit community of pilots, NFOs, and maintainers who fly and support this aircraft — and any Key West DET is guaranteed to be legendary. This flag patch plants the Hawkeye flag in the Conch Republic.
Perfect For: E-2 Hawkeye and E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircrew, VAW squadron personnel, NAS Key West DET veterans, Hummer community members, carrier air wing battle management officers, and anyone who has done a Key West DET and lived to tell about it.
Hawkeye Republic — all-seeing, always partying.
