When Operation Epic Fury began in late February 2026, Carrier Air Wing 9 aircraft launched from Lincoln's flight deck as part of the opening strikes, and the strike group went on to enforce the naval blockade that followed. By September 2026, the deployment was on track to become the second longest for any U.S. carrier since the end of the Cold War, with the crew still sailing the Indian Ocean on the long return to the West Coast.
