Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Ten is headquartered at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington, where it oversees the training, maintenance, and administrative support of its assigned VP and VQ patrol and reconnaissance squadrons. The wing's operational footprint spans the Pacific and beyond, with forward detachment sites that have included Diego Garcia, Bahrain, Misawa, and Kadena. When Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE was added to the wing's cognizance following the 1994 closure of NAS Agana, Guam, reconnaissance became a permanent part of the wing's identity and title. At its peak, CPRW-10 has managed more than 3,000 personnel across nine aircraft squadrons and 73 aircraft, supporting carrier strike groups, amphibious ready groups, and carrier air wings across the Pacific Command area of responsibility.
