Combat Logistics Battalion 7 is based at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, operating under Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, and I Marine Expeditionary Force. The battalion provides direct support combat logistics to the 7th Marine Regiment and the broader MEF, covering distribution, supply, maintenance, engineering, and general services across demanding desert and expeditionary environments. Within CLB-7, the Landing Support Platoon carries one of the most specialized missions in the logistics community. Landing Support Marines, known throughout the Corps as Red Patchers, form the shore party element that lands ahead of combat troops to organize the movement of personnel, equipment, and supplies from ship to shore. Their work extends well beyond the beach, covering helicopter landing zones, arrival and departure airfield control, port operations, and rail and truck terminal throughput in support of MAGTF operations. The platoon-level identity captured in this patch reflects the tight-knit culture of a community skilled across multiple disciplines and trusted to keep the force moving when timing and terrain leave no margin for error. CLB-7 has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, operations in Al Anbar Province, and Afghanistan, building a combat-tested logistics record that gives this patch real weight for anyone who served in or alongside the battalion.
