**Official 1st Battalion 11th Marines Cobra PVC Patch — USMC Artillery Unit PVC Patch**
1st Battalion, 11th Marines — the artillery battalion that's been raining steel on America's enemies since Guadalcanal. When the infantry calls for fire, the Cannon Cockers answer.
1st Battalion, 11th Marines (1/11) is an artillery battalion of the United States Marine Corps, serving as the primary fire support element for the 1st Marine Division at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Originally activated on December 3, 1923, at Quantico, Virginia, and redesignated as 1/11 on September 1, 1940, the battalion has earned a combat record spanning every major American conflict of the modern era. From the jungles of Guadalcanal to the frozen hills of the Chosin Reservoir, from the fire bases of Vietnam to the deserts of Kuwait during Desert Storm, and into Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2010, 1/11 has delivered accurate, all-weather artillery fire when and where it mattered most. Today the battalion operates M777A2 155mm howitzers and HIMARS rocket systems under the 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, and I Marine Expeditionary Force.
