Officia; USCG Corpus Christi Lone Star SAR Coin - Official U.S. Coast Guard Sector and Air Station Corpus Christi Search and Rescue Challenge Coin, Lone Star Texas edition.

South Texas SAR readiness, Coastal Bend heritage, and the Lone Star identity of one of the Gulf Coast's most active Coast Guard commands.

USCG Air Detachment Corpus Christi was established on 20 November 1950 as a tenant organization at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, beginning more than seven decades of continuous search and rescue coverage across the western Gulf of Mexico and the 350 miles of coastline and inland waterways of the Texas Coastal Bend. In May 2005, Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi was commissioned, unifying all units from Port Lavaca through Brownsville under one command. Today the Sector operates as a multi-mission command covering search and rescue, law enforcement, ports and waterways security, marine safety, drug and migrant interdiction, and environmental protection. In an average year, Sector Corpus Christi saves 101 lives, assists more than 554 people in distress, and protects an estimated eleven million dollars in property. The Lone Star designation on this coin ties the unit directly to its Texas Gulf Coast identity, honoring the aircrews, boat crews, rescue swimmers, and support personnel who answer every distress call across one of the nation's busiest maritime corridors. The coin format gives that legacy a tangible, collectible form suited to display cases, shadow boxes, unit reunions, and personal collections built around Coast Guard service.

Perfect For: USCG Sector Corpus Christi veterans and active-duty members, Coast Guard rescue swimmers, HC-144 and MH-65 Dolphin aircrew alumni, South Texas maritime community supporters, challenge coin collectors, Coast Guard family members, unit reunion keepsakes, shadow box displays, and anyone honoring the SAR mission along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Lone Star SAR pride, cast in metal for the crews who answer every call on the Coastal Bend.
