**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-204 River Rattlers Sticker — Reserve Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VA-204 River Rattlers — the reserve squadron that closed the final chapter on single-seat Skyhawk attack aviation in the entire United States Navy, then reinvented itself as one of the fleet's most capable adversary units. Weekend warriors who hit harder than some full-timers.

VA-204 was established on 1 July 1970 at NAS Memphis, Tennessee, flying A-4C Skyhawks as part of Carrier Air Wing Reserve 20. The River Rattlers — named for their proximity to the Mississippi River and the rattlesnake's reputation for vigilance and sudden strike — immediately proved their mettle, winning back-to-back CVWR-20 Bombing Derbies in 1971 and 1972. In 1975, VA-204 earned the F. Trubee Davison Award as the "Best Tailhook Squadron in the Naval Reserve." When the squadron was directed to cease A-4 operations in December 1977, they closed the final chapter of single-seat Skyhawk attack aviation in Navy history. Moving to NAS New Orleans in 1978, VA-204 transitioned to the A-7B Corsair II, then later to the A-7E. Redesignated VFA-204 in 1991, the River Rattlers transitioned to the F/A-18 Hornet and became the first reserve strike fighter squadron to provide adversary support to the active fleet. The squadron even appeared in the 2003 Bruce Willis film "Tears of the Sun." Redesignated VFC-204 in 2022, the River Rattlers now fly the F-5N/F Tiger II.
