MWSS-173 provides the full spectrum of wing support operations including expeditionary airfield construction and maintenance, bulk fuel distribution, engineer support, motor transport, communications, and ground defense. The Gryphons are trained to rapidly deploy and establish aviation operating bases in austere environments, supporting Marine aircraft operations anywhere in the world.
