West Coast Wing Support Command
MWSG-37 directed the Marines who built, sustained, and defended the operating bases for the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing on the West Coast. From expeditionary airfield construction to bulk fuel distribution, this group's Marines provided the critical ground support infrastructure that makes Marine aviation expeditionary.
Marine Wing Support Group 37 served as the higher headquarters for the Marine Wing Support Squadrons assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The group coordinated engineer support, expeditionary airfield operations, bulk fuel distribution, motor transport, communications, and base defense for 3rd MAW installations and deployed locations. MWSG-37 deployed elements to Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom, establishing the forward aviation operating bases that enabled Marine air power to reach the battlefield.
