War Eagle Base Operations
MABS-29 provided the ground support foundation for the War Eagles of MAG-29, ensuring that one of the Marine Corps' most active rotary wing groups always had the base infrastructure needed to fly and fight. This officially licensed patch honors the Marines who kept New River's flight line operational.
Marine Air Base Squadron 29 was activated alongside MAG-29 at MCAS New River, providing airfield services, aircraft rescue and firefighting, aviation fuels, motor transport, communications, and base security. The squadron deployed alongside MAG-29 to every major operation, establishing expeditionary base support in environments ranging from the Saudi Arabian desert during Desert Storm to East African austere airfields during Operation Restore Hope. MABS-29 Marines ensured that the War Eagles' rotary wing aircraft always had the ground support needed to complete their assault support missions.
