MABS-24 kept the flight operations running at MCAS Kaneohe Bay and wherever MAG-24 deployed in the vast Pacific theater. This officially licensed patch represents the Marines who provided the essential base support that enabled Marine aviation operations across the Pacific.
Marine Air Base Squadron 24 served as the base operations element of MAG-24 at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. The squadron provided airfield operations, aircraft rescue and firefighting, aviation fuels, motor transport, communications, and base defense for one of the Marine Corps' most expeditionary aviation groups. Whether supporting operations at Kaneohe Bay or deploying to forward locations across the Pacific, MABS-24 Marines ensured that MAG-24's rotary wing and tiltrotor aircraft had the infrastructure support needed to respond to any contingency in the Indo-Pacific region.
