Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303 (HMLAT-303) is the United States Marine Corps' sole fleet replacement squadron for the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom helicopter platforms. Based at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, HMLAT-303 is where every Marine Cobra and Huey pilot and aircrew member learns to fly and fight in the Corps' light attack helicopters. This Spartan-themed PVC shoulder patch reflects the warrior ethos and rigorous training standards that define the squadron.
HMLAT-303 takes newly designated naval aviators and weapons systems officers and transforms them into combat-ready helicopter pilots through an intensive training syllabus that covers everything from basic aircraft familiarization to advanced weapons employment, close air support tactics, and night vision goggle operations.
