HMLA-469 Flightline Qualification Patches

Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 (HMLA-469) — "Vengeance" — Flightline Qualification

These flightline qualification patches represent the earned credentials of Marines who served on the flight line with HMLA-469 "Vengeance," one of the youngest yet most operationally active light attack helicopter squadrons in Marine Corps history. Officially activated on 30 June 2009 at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, HMLA-469 was created to expand the Marine Corps' rotary-wing capacity during the height of the Global War on Terror. The squadron's callsign, insignia, and identity were inspired by the national resolve following the September 11, 2001 attacks, with each helicopter bearing the tailcode "SE" for September Eleventh.

Assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 39 (MAG-39), 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW), HMLA-469 operated a lethal combination of AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters and UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters with approximately 350 Marines on strength. The squadron conducted multiple deployments with Marine Expeditionary Units and in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During the September 2012 attack on Camp Bastion in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, HMLA-469 Marines armed and launched aircraft while simultaneously defending the squadron compound without suffering any casualties or damage to aircraft. In April and May 2015, the squadron provided humanitarian aid during Operation Sahayogi Haat following devastating earthquakes in Nepal.

HMLA-469 was deactivated on 16 December 2022 as part of Force Design 2030, which directed the divestment of two HMLA squadrons across the Marine Corps. HMLA-367 "Scarface" was subsequently reactivated to replace the outgoing Vengeance under MAG-39.

Perfect For: Former HMLA-469 Marines, flightline qualified personnel, MAG-39 veterans, 3rd MAW maintainers, AH-1Z and UH-1Y crew chiefs, plane captains, and Marine Corps rotary-wing aviation collectors.

A tribute to the flightline warriors of Vengeance — thirteen years of combat-ready helicopter operations, from Camp Pendleton to the battlefields of Afghanistan.

Size is shown on the product page and updates with the variant you select (example: 3"). If you’re mounting on a hat or small panel, choose smaller sizes; for plate carriers and display boards, larger sizes fit better.

If the product is officially licensed, it will say “Officially Licensed” in the title and/or in the product details. If it doesn’t, it’s still a legitimate product—just not part of a licensed program.
