This embroidered patch represents Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366 (HMH-366), the Hammerheads, specifically commemorating the CH-53D Sea Stallion era. Before transitioning to the CH-53E Super Stallion, HMH-366 flew the CH-53D "Delta" model, an earlier variant of the heavy-lift helicopter. The Delta Hammerheads era was foundational to the squadron's identity, and this patch preserves that heritage. The CH-53D was a workhorse that carried Marines and heavy equipment before the three-engine Echo model expanded the heavy-lift capability. This patch is a piece of HMH-366's evolution.
