R.O.C. Marines Patch — Embroidered Patch
Semper Fidelis to the Republic — Republic of China Marine Corps
Standing guard over the Taiwan Strait, the Republic of China Marine Corps represents the tip of the spear in the defense of Taiwan against amphibious invasion. This patch honors an elite force that has earned its reputation through decades of vigilance, grueling selection programs, and an unshakable commitment to defending the island nation's sovereignty.
The ROCMC traces its origins to December 1914 when the Naval Guard Corps was reformed as a marine force on mainland China. Reconstituted in 1947, the Marines fought Communist forces during the Chinese Civil War, including the desperate defense of the Changshan Islands where 1,000 Marines held against 30,000 enemy troops. After the retreat to Taiwan, the ROCMC was rebuilt with extensive U.S. Marine Corps assistance, receiving American equipment, advisors, and training. The Corps participated in the defense of Kinmen during the 1958 Taiwan Strait Crisis, delivering supplies under artillery fire. Today approximately 9,000-10,000 Marines are organized into the 66th, 77th, and 99th Marine Brigades, headquartered at Zuoying Naval Base in Kaohsiung, serving as Taiwan's rapid-reaction force and strategic reserve.
Perfect For: ROC Marines veterans, Taiwan defense supporters, USMC personnel who trained with ROC counterparts, collectors of international military insignia, and anyone who respects the Marines standing watch across the Taiwan Strait.
Wherever the Republic calls — the ROC Marines answer.
