The UH-1N Twin Huey served Marine Corps units during Operation Iraqi Freedom, continuing the legendary Huey lineage in combat. Marine UH-1N crews provided utility transport, command and control, close air support, and armed escort missions across the Iraqi theater. The Huey operated alongside the AH-1W Super Cobra in Marine Light Attack Helicopter squadrons, providing the utility half of the HMLA team. UH-1 crews in Iraq flew in challenging desert conditions, navigating dust storms and hostile fire to support Marines on the ground. This patch commemorates the Huey community's OIF service.
