Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler encompasses all Marine Corps installations on the island of Okinawa, Japan, including Camp Foster, Camp Hansen, Camp Schwab, Camp Kinser, and Camp Courtney. Named after two-time Medal of Honor recipient Major General Smedley Butler, the base complex supports the III Marine Expeditionary Force and its subordinate commands, providing the infrastructure and support for forward-deployed Marine forces in the Western Pacific.
